About the 50/50 Raffle
The 50/50 Raffle is hosted at the Anderson County Fair each year to raise funds and awareness for ASAP of Anderson’s efforts to prevent and reduce substance misuse among youth and adults in Anderson County. The raffle highlights ASAP’s #IAMONE campaign which encourages people to say, “I AM ONE who will not drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.” Through the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s support of the #IAMONE campaign, ASAP volunteers have the opportunity to guide participants through fatal vision activities, share information through social media and a selfie station, and sell raffle tickets.
Funds raised through the 50/50 Raffle are used for activities, programs, and events related to substance use prevention in Anderson County including:
- I AM ONE campaign which aims to reduce underage drinking and increase awareness of Tennessee’s Social Host Liability Law
- Youth Ambassadors Coalition (YAC) at all 3 high schools and a number of middle schools in the county
- Count It! Lock It! Drop It! which encourages community members to count their medications and provides home medicine lock boxes to community members and permanent medicine disposal bins at local police departments
- GenerationRx, an education and awareness curriculum aimed at teaching youth and adults about the dangers of prescription medications
- And much, much, more!
