Meet Haley Hazel!
As a new season begins, so do new ASAP internships! We’ve decided to ask our incoming interns a few basic questions to help the community get to know the people working for them and for the safety of all of Anderson County.
To kick off our new Intern Introduction Series, our first spotlight is our Youth Coordinator Intern, Haley Hazel. Haley is a native of Clinton, Tennessee, and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice from Lincoln Memorial University. Some of the things Haley likes to do in her free time include being outside in any capacity, traveling, reading, and spending quality time with her friends and family. We asked Haley some questions, so let’s see what she said!
What do you feel most passionate about?
I feel most passionate about helping people, whether that be people I know personally, or people in my community. I also feel really passionate about being kind to people, because you never know what someone is going through.
What is a quote you live by?
A quote I live by is, “It is only failure if you do not learn from it.”
What are you most looking forward to in this internship?
I am most looking forward to learning about the drug prevention efforts within my community and working with the youth within my community.
What are the biggest responsibilities of your job?
I believe that the biggest responsibilities of my job include raising awareness about substance misuse in my community among youth, educating youth about substance misuse, and providing positive and prosocial activities/interactions for the youth I will be working with.
What’s the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have ever received was from my grandmother. She has always told me to be confident in myself and to never compare myself to others because they are also human, and they get dressed the same way that I do every morning.
Welcome to ASAP, Haley. We are so grateful to have you on our team!
