Join one of our new Event Committees!
ASAP Coalition members recently voted to establish a new committee structure for events and fundraisers that ASAP participates in every year. We previously had one committee outside the coalition at-large – the Sustainability Committee, which has now been split in to four new committees. We want to give a big heartfelt thank you to the Sustainability Committee members, past and present, for all of they were able to accomplish.
The new Volunteer Committee will run from July to July each year. This committee will do all things volunteers! They will organize, manage, and track volunteers for all ASAP events and fundraisers. They will also support ASAP coalition members and recruit new members throughout the year. The 50/50 Raffle + Fair Committee will organize both the 50/50 raffle and ASAP booth at the Anderson County Fair, occurring in July each year. This committee will run from February to July. This committee has a dual role of fundraising and alcohol awareness. The Red Ribbon Week Committee will organize and implement education and awareness for substance use prevention activities during Red Ribbon Week in October each year. The committee will run from June to October. In addition to awareness, the committee will support the youth-focused Red Ribbon Rivalry. Finally, our Ally of the Year + Banquet Committee will organize and implement the Ally of the Year fundraising event in January and support our Allies as they compete for the most votes. They will also plan and implement the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet in February. This committee has a dual role of both fundraising and volunteer appreciation.
Coalition members and partners can now join these committees. If you are interested in learning more or signing up as a committee member, contact Jennifer@asapofanderson.org. Members of committees will have the opportunity to join new committees or change their commits each year. We’re excited to increase our volunteers’ opportunities to get involved!
