October 23-31, 2017 is Red Ribbon Week.  The red ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.  The I AM ONE is one such activity happening right now throughout Anderson County.  Please join in and proclaim “I AM ONE who will be proactive against substance misuse in my community.”

As a parent you can…

…be a positive adult role model.

…talk to your children about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

…be aware of factors that may lead to use.

…get familiar with the warning signs that your child may be using alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs.

…ask for help.

As a congregation you can…

…take steps towards becoming a recovery friendly congregation.

…Print information in your bulletin.

…display red ribbons at your church or by church members.

…start a recovery support group.

…take up an offering to be donated in support of substance misuse prevention.

As a community member you can…

…come to an ASAP coalition meeting.

…learn how you can support substance misuse prevention efforts through your occupation, civic organization or other interests or groups.

…give your time, dollars, or in-kind support to substance misuse prevention and treatment agencies.
